Generation Z is the most current generation
which began in the late 1990s and till
the early 2000s . these people are the ones who are born into the age of
advanced technology where technology has become a very important part of
life in all aspects of life

People magazine,
a magazine that is based on keeping the average individual up-to-date with the
lives of Hollywood superstars that gen Z follows
although its all good an well to keep up with these people but it give
the opportunity for some of us to look up to the wrong people which negatively
impacts our upbringing

We
chose to use the category of rap music in our youth today as a representation
of our generation. We feel that the underpinning issues represented here are
based on sex, drugs and alcohol. We feel this because often songs are being
rapped with the main content being drugs and thugs in a sense. Rap songs are
often based on the street life and encourages gangsterism in our opinion. The
male rappers are constantly rapping about women and their past relationships or
who they are currently interested in.
The attitudes that are represented in the new age rap music is an
attitude of not caring about what anyone else thinks as well as influencing
youth to be that way to, and whatever they feel they would like to despite if
it means going against morals and values. A violent attitude also comes across
because of the content of weapons which is rapped about too.
- Based on information collected from
Facebook we can conclude that topics on social media that are quite
popular in our generation include the equality of women across the world
and the fight for women being seen as powerful. We also noticed the idea
of being a free spirit and expressing very personal opinions when it comes
to lifestyle, government and religion. We feel that mass media has
impacted this as it travels really fast throughout the world. Social media
is a huge influence on this generation as one’s opinion can be seen by
many on a large amount of different platforms.
- If we had to assess the idea of a
contemporary utopia it would be a world whereby everyone is accepting of
one another despite gender, race, religion, financial status and positions
of power. It seems that the strive for our generation today is that we all
just want to be seen as equals because of the amount of greed and
selfishness that emerges based on difference of opinion as well as who has
more money or knowledge.

ideals as discussed above:
